House of Ruth welcomes community members to volunteer at our agency. All volunteers participate in a comprehensive 40-hour training that is offered three times a year (typically beginning in March, July, and September). This training prepares volunteers with an understanding of the dynamics of abuse, its effects on children, legal issues, counseling, social and cultural issues related to domestic violence, community resources, and the services provided at House of Ruth. Upon the completion of this training, volunteers may work in our Shelter, in our Children’s Program, on our Hotline, at our community legal clinics, in our administrative department, and at community and fundraising events.
For more information about volunteering, please contact our Prevention Coordinator, Natalie Rojano-Jenkins.
