MISSION To advocate for and assist women and children victimized by domestic violence by providing shelter, programs, opportunities and education; to contribute to social change through intervention, education, prevention programs and community awareness.
VISION Women and children victimized by domestic violence will have immediate access to quality support services and resources to improve their lives. Communities will embrace, act upon and celebrate the reduction and elimination of violence against women.
VALUES The strongest, and most deeply held value at House of Ruth, is that of Non-Violence. The agency believes that all people deserve to live lives free of violence, especially in their homes. The agency recognizes that violence is a form of oppression and that all forms of oppression are inter-connected, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse, prejudice, racism, able-bodiedism, ageism, classism and heterosexism. House of Ruth rejects violence and does not condone any kind of violent or abusive behavior. Conflicts within the agency and between the agency and the outside world will be approached with our values in mind.
